When I took office as Justice of the Peace for Pima County Precinct 3 in January 2023, I began working to strengthen Ajo Justice Court while confronting the challenges of operating a small rural court with aging technology, unreliable internet, facility concerns, and limited resources. In December 2025, that work took an unexpected turn when Administrative Order 2025-207 transferred administrative control of Ajo Justice Court to the Pima County Presiding Judge following allegations and concerns about the administration of my court.

From the beginning, I asked for the evidence, documentation, and an opportunity to respond. This 4 page newsletter tells the story of my four years office — the work we accomplished, the challenges we faced, and where we go from here.
